A crucial part of identifying if your child has a fever is to get to know your thermometer when your child is well. There is a handy chart included in the Instruction Manual where you can record your families temperature taking it at different times of the day as it will vary slightly. It can also vary slightly with age and gender. Also different areas of the body can give you slightly different readings (e.g. oral, rectal, ear, underarm etc). This way knowing what your families “normal body temperature” it will ensure that when they do have a fever it is quickly and easily identified.

"We had a sniffly baby in the P&N family last week (poor bunny!), so we sent her mama home with the Zoe+Ruth Digital Infrared Non-Contact Forehead Fever Thermometer to put it to the test.
Our editor’s review? “I was admittedly intimated to try this thermometer—I’m so not into electronics or technology, you guys, and the last thing I wanted to do was try to figure out something new with a fussy baby in my arms—but it was so easy. Like, really, really easy. I took our peanut’s temperature in a second (literally!) and then I took my temperature and my husband’s and the kitchen’s because it was, well, kind of fun.🤓”
